Count down to reflection

I'm still in an art funk, but I thought contributing to the art blog was a good idea. I've missed a few of the themes so far.

Anyways, I had this idea for this like staff/character. The staff would have a mirror on the end. The staff/mirror itself is not evil, and its not good. It's just a factor in the equation. Folks will use the mirror for their own intentions, but it may not turn out how they please. Example: if your sick, you look in the mirror and your reflection would be a 'well' person, therefor you would be healed. Evil intentions would taint you with good intentions, and good intentions would taint you with evil. Example. It's like an opposite reflection thing. Obviously in a fantasy world of mine, this could have many uses, good and bad.

It's done on crappy paper, with a smudgy pencil, and will be moved to scraps soon.

  1. dude I love that staff!and the hair, so detailed!

Hmm I like that the staff/mirror plays off of some of the traditional mirror...lore I guess you could say. Some people say that mirrors show you the truth, but that the truth isn't always what you want to see (or is it?), or maybe it shows you something there that you couldn't see with your own eyes... like another part of the world was revealed not necessarily just about the person looking into it, but everything else around them.

I guess I'd like to see more examples. Because if you're sick (as you said) you look in and see that you are well and you are healed. But if you're sick and your intentions are good, you're a good person and you just want to be well again... then how would the mirror give you the bad affect? Would it make being well not such a great thing after all?

Just a question I have :) But it sounds like a great idea!
