At work I frequently daydream about using our giant trash bags to fly around sparsely-populated mountainous areas. I have not tried it personally, but I'm sure it is quite plausible.

Day schedule:

9AM: wake up buried in blankets, cold from fan
10AM: sit in front of fan after shower
12PM: turn fan up on 2, eat lunch in front of it
4PM: turn fan up on 3, sit in front of it because it's too hot to do anything else
6PM: turn fan down to 1 and watch TV while sitting in front of it
10PM: turn fan towards bed, go to sleep with no covers
12AM: dog leaves room to sleep on tile because apparently they have this thing called "fur" and the fan isn't working

Rinse, dry, and repeat

I'm still in an art funk, but I thought contributing to the art blog was a good idea. I've missed a few of the themes so far.

Anyways, I had this idea for this like staff/character. The staff would have a mirror on the end. The staff/mirror itself is not evil, and its not good. It's just a factor in the equation. Folks will use the mirror for their own intentions, but it may not turn out how they please. Example: if your sick, you look in the mirror and your reflection would be a 'well' person, therefor you would be healed. Evil intentions would taint you with good intentions, and good intentions would taint you with evil. Example. It's like an opposite reflection thing. Obviously in a fantasy world of mine, this could have many uses, good and bad.

It's done on crappy paper, with a smudgy pencil, and will be moved to scraps soon.

Journal comic!! Over Thanksgiving I found my Grandmother's "Easy Button" and tormented everyone with it. SO I thought it would be appropriate :D! Dear Maggie is a journal comic I have been writing for a while. I don't know if this is ACTUALLY #16 (IMPOSTER!) but eh. I'll deal! I'LL MAKE IT NUMBER 16!

I don't usually draw this bad, but these comics are just supposed to be loose, fun, and ridiculous. And the words could maybe be rearranged but IDK DOODLEFISH! I have to draw my family members as blob people because they re-enact the Blitzkrieg every time I depict them in comics or writing or whatever. So yeah. Funny blurbs from my life.

Blog-wise got rid of a bunch of stuff on the side xD I'll make this blog look pretty I swear! And since it's December (one of my favorite months) I'll post new themes. I think we can all agree that life has been "OMGWHAT" lately, but I have also been neglectful. NO MORE SAMPSON! And if I am again, I better get beat up with a wooden spoon. Soooo...new theme next week? :)

Anyways, yeah well I'm not proud of the Jello picture. I saw Joel did a jello cat one and then I was like OH NOES now what will I do, so I stopped working on mine, and well in the end. I'm like screw it. But since I just broke my hand doing the other picture. I'm just going to submit the jello sketch for now. It's dorky and makes no sense...sorta like I do. hmmm..ponder that one later. NOW ON TO JELLO!!!

OMgeeeezzz and I totally cheated on the next one too! haha. Er. I mean no! SO like "something isn't right." might pertain to the fact this is a Halloween picture, and borderlines on the theme. OOoh I'm so full of puns and awesome BSness..ness..es. Not my best work but eat it anyways, its good for you.

After many skvetchings of angles and ideas I just stuck with this. Working on GRS makes me want to draw epic shadow ghost things that look like combinations between fetuses and swamp monsters. Is it Ajah's real persona? A ghost of the past? or just a ghost trying to have fun? Who knows. And no, Ajah is not a furry. Kthnxbye.

Again I really have no clue what my balloons are made out of. What ever it is it seems to defy any logical sense of logic, and maybe even the insane sense of logic too. Well I had surgery so I didn't get to do anything super refined but I had this idea that sort of jumped along with the black balloon from theme 2.

Um....so I'm not entirely sure what to type about this doodle. I just had to get it out and down before I forgot my idea. Which in my current sedated state would be highly likely.

on another note. Teeter totters are kinda hellish to draw for me. I'm not sure why but it was like laughing at me the entire time to get it to look even semi right.

okay so I have a question for you guys. I know life has been pretty busy for a few of us. We all have day jobs or some kind of work to do, and things going on. This is pretty much a stress free blog if you don't make the deadline it's no big deal. But here's my question.

Are you guys okay at doing week to week? Or would you rather go every two weeks?

Or, rather, if by Wednsday no one has posted, should I extend the theme to the next week?

What do you guys think? I want it to be fun not stressful but I don't want it to go down either.

So thoughts, suggestions? I'm at no loss for themes, in fact I got a good load of suggestions for themes, so no problem there. Just wondering what you guys think in terms of keeping up and etc.

Jello Animals

My nana used to have stackable animal figurines. If you've ever seen Aladdin (the Disney version) the Sultan plays with little animals he stacks in a high tower. They were like that. So all I could think of was little Jello animals being stacked up preferrably for later eating.

Hey guys! Time for theme #3!

This week's theme is Jello! (Thank you Toki for the suggestion!) So have fun everyone!

And a couple things to mention that I forgot. It's okay if you post things late (though it would be awkward if you posted theme 2 like... 3 or 4 weeks from now). You're not gunna get punished or anything lol. So if you post WIP's and you want to do finished versions later, I have nothing against posting it up later or doing new versions and posting it up etc etc. The blog is supposed to be for fun. So no stressing out! Stress-free blog! Fun!

And if you find you don't have anything for the week, because life is busy or w/e then just catch the next theme. If you draw something for the theme of the previous week, post it along with your next piece if you want, or a link if you post it elsewhere~

Lastly, if you want to do something that is more mature in content, just mark it as such. :) If you have any questions about it just ask me. Because I know sometimes you get a good idea and you really want to do it but you're not sure what to do. So just keep it below XXX and I think we're good lol. No, I'm not a prude, but I'd like for the blog to be viewer friendly, so that's all I ask.

Wow. Not only am I behind schedule but this particular Picnic took me just under an hour to do. Seriously, talk about Phoning it in. Anyway, with a theme involving ashes falling like Snow, how could I have done anything other than a Silent Hill inspired pic. I just re-watched the EPIC classic animation Silent Hill 2 Chibi Edition, and I couldnt do anything to get the scary man jawed Angela out of my head.

I SWEAR that next weeks will actually be something non crappy. BTW, Epic artwork from all you insane artists, sadly I have no idea how to comment on other peoples posts. lol blogger noob.

"The Ashes Fell Like Snow"

My version is based off of the general fact (use this lightly) that everything dies in winter. Sort of abstract modeling of a monstrous demonic creature, with human skulls as his spine symbolizing this. As we have lady winter in the midst of the chaos blanketing the fact that death is occurring for a number of species, and life goes on in this cycle. So the ashes of the dead fall like the snow.

This is a WIP (work in progress) as I have a side missing, and have yet to clean it up. Alas I am sick still, and very tired because of it. So this is what we have for the time being, and for this week. I"ll do better later.

Hey people!

So per sir Vollmer I have added Digital Picnic to Networked Blogs on Facebook. This is so whenever you update, we update, it can be published on our main page, on our friend's feed and anyone who wants to follow it. I have added everyone who has joined so far (aka accepted an invite and has a Facebook page) as authors so that when you update you can publish it to your own page and alert your friends/followers and invite others to follow the updates. So that way its not resting solely on me or anyone else because we all get busy and sometimes I forget things. This can also spread the word faster and hopefullyyy get more people.

So I never use the Wacom for actually drawing and I figured I'd try to whip something out real quick just for giggles never expecting it to be so bad. Oh well. If time permits I may try to make something better. That task shouldn't be hard. Maybe I need someone to teach me how to set up the pressure sensitivity on the tablet or something. (sigh)

Welcome to Digital Picnic, a themes blog! "WTF does that mean??" you ask? HOW IT SOUNDS. Once a week a theme will be posted and artists, writers, creators, post their doodlings, musings, or creations inspired by the theme. Something to keep the juices flowing, when art block takes over or productivity is at an ultimate low. Something just for fun.

No you don't have to specifically be an artist, no you don't have to do a certain style of art. No you don't have to submit something each week. If you're not inspired, try again the next week.
